Kardinal Schulte Haus
Bergisch Gladbach | Symposium Location
Historical Background of the Kardinal Schulte Haus
Our symposium takes place at the historic Kardinal Schulte Haus. Built between 1926 and 1929, the building originally served as a seminary of the Archdiocese of Cologne. During World War II, the seminary had to leave the building due to its various uses. From 1958 onwards, the house was used by the Thomas-Morus-Akademie as well as a nursing home. After a fire in 1980, the building was extensively renovated. Since 1989, it has served as a conference centre of the Archdiocese of Cologne and is today also the seat of the Thomas-Morus-Akademie.
