SFB1535 MibiNet - Successful start with a kick-off meeting

(06.03.2023) The Collaborative Research Center 1535 MibiNet " Microbial networking – from organelles to cross-kingdom communities", which was launched at the beginning of the year, successfully started on March 6 with the kick-off meeting at Schloss Mickeln. The event was opened by the speaker team consisting of Prof. Michael Feldbrügge, professor at HHU and head of the Institute of Microbiology, and Prof. Julia Frunzke, professor at HHU and head of the working group "Bactrial Networks and Interactions" at Forschungszentrum Jülich.

The kick-off meeting of MibiNet was held in a relaxed atmosphere, providing an opportunity for all members to get acquainted with each other and the common goals for the next four years. The fundamental concept of MibiNet and the significance of researching microbial networks were presented to engage young scientists. After the presentation of the service projects "Biosensors", "Metabolomics" and "Data Management", the members discussed their future scientific projects in small groups. The highlight of the meeting was a dinner and social gathering that lasted late into the evening.
