In nature, microorganisms interact and communicate with one another, exchanging nutrients and information, an active process we call "networking".
MibiNet aims to understand microbial networking in its full complexity to explain how organelles evolve and how the microbiome functions.

Students from Lima, Peru visiting the SynMiBi and HHU
A group of students from the faculty of Sciences, Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, Lima, Peru, is visiting the SynMiBi and HHU from August 26-29 2024 as part of the DAAD program "Study trips for groups of foreign students in Germany 2024 (Studienreisen für Gruppen ausländischer Studierender in Deutschland 2024)". The students travel under the supervision of PhD Ilanit Samolski, Laboratorio de Micología y Biotecnología "Marcel Gutiérrez-Correa".
INSPIRE - career talks with women scientists
As part of “INSPIRE. Career Talks with Female Scientists”, Prof. Dr. Carla Schmidt from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz talked about her career path and important moments and decisions. INSPIRE career talks is organized in cooperation between CEPLAS, CRC 1208, and MibiNet. It aims to increase the visibility of women in science and to present potential role models to young female scientists.
